Vampires. There's no escaping them. Even if you've got all of the practical issues squared away -- garlic wreaths, wooden stakes, crosses, holy water -- there's just no getting around Twilight's omnipresence.

Rather than avoid it like the pop culture pit of despair that it is, auteur filmmaker Jim Jarmusch has decided to embrace it with a vampire flick of his own. The untitled movie is set to shoot in Germany, Morocco and Detroit early next year, and the cast is now starting to come together.

Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton and Mia Wasikowska have all been confirmed for vampire roles while John Hurt is in a "featured role," ScreenDaily reports via the director himself. Jarmusch describes the film as a "crypto-vampire love story."

Tom Waits hasn't been confirmed for anything yet, but between his longtime relationship with Jarmusch and his past experience with the father of all vampires (see: Bram Stoker's Dracula), he seems like a necessary accompaniment for this cast.
