The Fargo police force is finally starting to take shape. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the FX series based on the 1996 Joel and Ethan Coen film recently added Colin Hanks to the cast.

The website describes Hanks' role of Gus Grimly as "a police deputy and single dad who must choose between his own personal safety and his duty as a policeman when he comes face-to-face with a killer."

The Coen Brothers are executive producing the 10-episode limited series that maintains the tone of the film, but focuses on a different crime involving different characters.

Since Fargo was ordered to series in March, Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman have signed on. Shooting will start in October with an eye toward a spring 2014 debut.
