A wild-eyed Eddie Redmayne rushes up the steps in a new image from the "Harry Potter" spinoff "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

The Oscar winner stars in the film as magizoologist Newt Scamander, who's stopped off in 1920 New York City after completing a global excursion to find and document extraordinary magical creatures. He might have enjoyed his stopover without incident, if it weren’t for a No-Maj (the American term for “Muggle”) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of Newt’s fantastic beasts.

Directed by "Harry Potter" franchise veteran David Yates from a script by J.K. Rowling herself, "Fantastic Beasts" also stars Katherine Waterston (“Steve Jobs,” “Inherent Vice”) as Tina, Dan Fogler (“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”) as Jacob, Alison Sudol (“Dig,” “Transparent”) as Tina’s sister Queenie, Ezra Miller (“Trainwreck”) as Credence, Samantha Morton (“In America,” “Sweet and Lowdown”) as Mary Lou, Jon Voight (“Coming Home,” “Ray Donovan”) as Henry Shaw Sr., Ron Perlman (“Hellboy”) as Gnarlack, Carmen Ejogo (“Selma”) as Seraphina, Jenn Murray (“Brooklyn”) as Chastity, newcomer Faith Wood-Blagrove as Modesty, and Colin Farrell (“True Detective”) as Percival Graves.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" arrives Nov. 18, 2016.
