A fan-made trailer has surfaced online depicting the ever-popular Game of Thrones as if it were set in the modern era. The trailer, titled Westeros The Series, modernizes the tropes fans have seen on the hit HBO show which focuses on several houses in the fictional Westeros battling for the Iron Throne. The trailer keeps the essence of war, murder, political intrigue and of course, sex, while adding a contemporary spin on things.

It depicts a male Lannister as a Prime Minster preaching to the masses, gunmen in place of medieval soldiers, a resistance under House Stark, various skyscraper shots and concrete islands instead of wondrous visuals of castles, but most notably, it also keeps the supernatural aspect of the mythos. Wolves, White Walkers, the icy Wall and at the trailer's very end, a dragon can be seen flying over the city which has a doom and gloom setting similar to Fox's Gotham.
