Although many believe Famke Janssen will make a cameo in the upcoming The Wolverine, she's not going to be the one to spill the beans.

When asked by MTV News about her recent visit to Australia, Janssen said she had no idea what the interviewer was talking about, and she played only a little less coy about her potential involvement in either The Wolverine or X-Men: Days of Future Past.

"I'm waiting by the phone. It would be very surreal," she said. "I would be honored to be a part of any of these X-Men movies. It would be great."

Considering Jean Grey and Phoenix died in the original X-Men trilogy, it could be a little tricky to bring her back in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Janssen acknowledged as much, saying it wouldn't be easy to resurrect her character again.

"She died as Jean Grey and she died as the Phoenix. Is there another incarnation of her that we haven't seen? I don't think so," Janssen said. "Bryan Singer is a very smart guy, but if we go younger, I'm out too. I'm all for an interpretation of that on whatever front. I'd be thrilled."

She echoed similar sentiments to SuperHeroHype, but seemed slightly more optimistic when she said, "One never knows. Jean Grey, the Phoenix … she finds a way to reincarnate herself constantly, so one never knows."

The 1981 Days of Future Past story by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, which appeared in The Uncanny X-Men #141-142, depicts a timeline created by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants from assassinating a U.S. senator. In that alternate future, the giant robotic Sentinels have become the de facto rulers of the United States, where mutants are hunted down and placed in internment camps.
