Daniel Brühl, who starred as the villain Zemo in Marvel Studios' Captain America: Civil War, is set to reprise his role for the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which was officially announced at Comic-Con International in San Diego. During the studio's Hall H presentation, Brühl appeared as Zemo via a video transmission.

Those in attendance were the first to see Zemo wearing his comic-accurate mask, but now Brühl has released a photo of Zemo in the mask to his Instagram account.

Brühl captioned his photos with the message, "'Longing, Rusted, Seventeen, Daybreak, Furnace, Nine, Benign, Homecoming, One, Freight Car.' Zemo is getting ready #SDCC @comic_con @marvel @marvelstudios"

The character first debuted in 2016’s Civil War, as the instigator of the dispute between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. When last we saw him, Zemo was taken prisoner, supervised by Everett Ross.

In the comic books, Baron Zemo is one of Captain America’s recurring foes. The character always appears with his purple, sock-like mask, something that fans desperately wanted to see in his live-action debut. Thankfully, he will now return to the MCU with an appearance faithful to the comics.
