In preparation for the September 24 release of "Scribblenauts Unmasked," WB Games, 5TH Cell and DC Entertainment have provided CBR with a series of homage covers using the "Scribblenauts" DC characters recreating of some of the publisher's most iconic covers.

First up from the vaults of DC Comics history is one of the most recognizable covers of all time: "Action Comics" #1, which introduced Superman for the first time. The "Scribblenauts Unmasked" cover shows Superman in his classic costume, with appropriately dressed civilians scrambling away from the hero with a car held aloft. "Scribblenauts" protagonist Maxwell even gets a cameo in the bottom left corner.

"Action Comics" #1 made headlines in June when a Minnesota man discovered a copy in the wall of his 1938 house, which eventually sold at auction for $175,000. A near-mint version of the comic sold by actor Nicolas Cage sold at auction for $2.6 million in 2011.

"'Scribblenauts' is one of the most unique games ever created due to the amount of objects we put in the game, and the unique way that players can interact with those objects via Maxwell's magic notebook," 5TH Cell Senior Producer Caleb Arseneaux told CBR News earlier this month. "When we looked at the DC Universe, we saw an equally huge number of characters and objects that we felt players would love to interact with in a new way. We've added over 2000 DC Universe objects to the game, ranging from Superman to Bizarro to vehicles used by obscure characters."

Check back every day until September 24 for a new cover homage using the trademark "Scribblenauts" style.

"Scribblenauts Unmasked" releases September 24 for Nintendo 3DS, Wii U and PC.
