Marvel Comics has provided CBR with an exclusive five-page preview of "Avengers vs. X-Men" #0 by Jason Aaron with art by Frank Cho. The preview focuses on Cyclops and Hope on Utopia, teasing the resurrection of the Phoenix force and a conflict between the X-Men leader and the Mutant Messiah.

In an "Avengers vs. X-Men" live event in 2011, Brian Michael Bendis teased the direction of the event for The Avengers, who have been tested and will likely continue to be so. "What's been going on lately is that they've been tested...they're wondering what it means to be an Avenger...when the world is throwing one terrible disaster at them after another...it takes a toll on a society and the Avengers are left to take the blame for it, as it were," Bendis said. "They're going to want answers from Captain America." The writer further said the #0 issue will set the final pieces of the story in place.

The preview pages follow yesterday's released unlettered pages from "Avengers vs. X-Men" #0, a week of cover reveals earlier in January for tie-in issues of core Avengers and X-Men titles and the announcement of the only stand-alone tie-in series to the event, "AvX: Versus."
