Archie Comics' New Crusaders have been shaken up, beaten down and taken towards a dark tomorrow. On July 10, readers are able to pick up the next chapter of the publisher's Red Circle relaunch in "New Crusaders: Legacy," a 192-page trade paperback with two stories to tell.

On one side, the teen team's story continues as they deal with the fallout of the death of a friend as told by series writer Ian Flynn and artist Jerry Gaylord. These chapters set up this fall's return of the regular title when it's relaunched as "New Crusaders: Dark Tomorrow." On the other side of the "Legacy" trade, Archie is bringing back remastered versions of some of their classic Red Circle material from legendary creators like Steve Ditko, Gray Morrow, Alex Toth, Carmine Infantino, Eduardo Barreto, Dick Ayers, Chic Stone, Rich Buckler and more.

Featured below, Archie provided CBR News with an exclusive and expansive preview from the "Legacy" trade including pages from both Flynn and Gaylord's new story and some titans of comics past.

"It takes place in-between our two series," Editor Paul Kaminski told CBR when the book was announced. "It includes a new story that wraps around some reprints of classic 'Mighty Crusaders' comics to give readers a clearer picture of the history and legacy of these characters. It'll give us more info on where the kids came from to see where they're going and why this tomorrow is so dark -- and why it could also prove to be very hopeful in the end."

Stay tuned to CBR for more on the future of the Red Circle line with Mark Waid and Dean Haspiels "The Fox."
