With a "Wynonna Earp" TV series set to debut in spring 2016 on Syfy, one might suspect that the character will also soon return to comic books -- and that suspicion would be 100 percent correct, and CBR has the exclusive first details. IDW Publishing, who is producing the TV series with SEVEN24 Films, has a new "Wynonna Earp" comics series scheduled to debut in February 2016, written by the character's creator, Beau Smith, and illustrated by Lora Innes, of IDW's "The Dreamer."

As evidenced by Innes' cover, this version of "Wynonna Earp" appears to take its visual cues from the upcoming TV series starring Melanie Scrofano, in a departure from earlier comics starring the character. This marks the first "Wynonna Earp" comic series since 2010's "Wynonna Earp: The Yeti Wars," also published by IDW.
