Grant Morrison and Dan Mora's miniseries "Klaus" was one of BOOM! Studios biggest hits in the past year, presenting a Santa Claus origin story in the style of a superhero epic. Though the story wrapped up a couple weeks back with "Klaus" #7, Morrison & Mora have one more treat left in their Santa sack -- a one-shot titled "Klaus and the Witch of Winter," aptly scheduled for release just days before Christmas. CBR has the exclusive first details on the story, announced Saturday at BOOM! Studios' panel at Baltimore Comic-Con.
"Klaus and the Witch of Winter," slated for Dec. 21, will be a 48-page one-shot with a $7.99 cover price, telling a wholly new story of Morrison and Mora's badass version on Father Christmas. The one-shot follows the "Klaus" hardcover collecting the initial seven-issue miniseries, which is due out in November.

"We've never seen how the hell this happened -- how did he get to be Santa Claus?" It seemed such an obvious, ridiculous idea, that I really seized on it and it became a kind of 'Lord of the Rings' meets 'Batman Begins,'" Morrison told CBR News back in 2015 when the series was first announced.
