Marvel Comics has provided CBR with an exclusive first look at Jamie McKelvie's cover for the July-releasing "Young Avengers" #8 written by Kieron Gillen, continuing the series' dynamic cover design with a look into at least eight different universes, which change and shift the cast to their alternate appearances. The cover features Kid Loki, Noh-Varr, Miss America Chavez, Kate Bishop, Hulkling and Wiccan along with a new addition to the cast all spread across different universes portrayed as brushstrokes.

The new addition is likely ex-X-Man Prodigy, who Gillen got a chance to write in "Uncanny X-Men." In an interview with CBR in March, Gillen stated he planned to bring both Prodigy and Wiccan's brother Speed onto the cast of the book.

"The book is called 'Young Avengers,' but I don't really see that as simply the name of the team. This is a book about young Avengers. It's about being a young hero in the Marvel Universe," Gillen told CBR. "Tommy is a great character, but he just didn't fit into the story in our first five issues. I see him as a guy who moves around a lot and gets bored. I see him as a guy who works a job, earns some money and then travels for a bit. In our metaphor, 'travel' means 'be a superhero.' He's that guy. He does a shitty job at a company for a few weeks, gets a roll together, goes, travels a bit, does some super hero stuff a bit and then, repeat."
