Marvel's new "Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows" ongoing series is set to provide Spidey fans with monthly adventures set in an alternate timeline where Peter Parker is indeed married to Mary Jane, and they have a daughter named Annie -- and oh yeah, all three of them have Spider-Powers, and operate as a family of superheroes.

The first issue will delve even more in-depth to these characters, bolstered by two back-up stories. CBR has the exclusive first word that writer Kate Leth ("Hellcat," "Power Up") and artist Marguerite Sauvage ("DC Comics: Bombshells," "Scarlet Witch") will team for one of them, a short story starring Mary Jane and Annie appearing in "Renew Your Vows" #1, scheduled for release next week.

"Getting to write Mary Jane is such a thrill, especially in a world where she and her daughter are both superheroes," Leth said in a statement to CBR. "It's exciting to get to play with characters that have such a storied history, even for a few pages."

This will be the first time Leth and Sauvage have collaborated on a sequential story together, but their paths have crossed before.

"I'll take any excuse to work with Marguerite Sauvage -- she's done covers for both 'Hellcat' and my Dark Horse series 'Spell on Wheels' -- but this is our first time doing sequential work together," Leth said. "She's amazing, and it's a gorgeous story. I hope we get to do more!"

The main story of "Renew Your Vows" #1 is from the series regular creative team of writer Gerry Conway and artist Ryan Stegman. Like "Spider-Gwen," the series is set outside of the mainline Marvel Universe continuity -- in this instance, not only showing a world where Peter Parker and Mary Jane stayed married, but also raised a young child.

The first "Renew Your Vows" series was one of many storylines that developed as a result of Marvel's temporarily altered continuity during 2015's "Secret Wars," depicted in a miniseries by longtime Spidey writer Dan Slott and veteran artist Adam Kubert.

"My interests in this book was to portray a loving couple that may have problems, but their marriage is not a problem," Conway told CBR in September. "Their relationship is solid. There’s no conflicts, other than the normal ones that come up in a marriage. I don’t think that’s something that people have done too much with, so I thought it would be fun to do."

"Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows" #1 is scheduled for release next Wednesday, Nov. 9.
