EXCLUSIVE: John Romita Jr. Illustrates the DC Universe in April Variant Month Theme

It was a big deal when John Romita Jr. — best known for his run of more than 30 years at Marvel Comics — moved to DC Comics in 2014 for a run on “Superman.” Romita’s next big DC project will be “Dark Knight Returns” prequel “Dark Knight Returns: The Last Crusade,” but those eager to see the superstar artist take on even more DC Comics characters are in luck — he’s illustrated 26 covers for the publisher for April’s releases.

CBR has the exclusive first look at five of Romita’s DC variant covers: “Aquaman” #51 (by Romita and Danny Miki), “Batman/Superman” #31 (by Romita and Klaus Janson), “Deathstroke” #17 (by Romita and Scott Hanna), “Superman: Lois and Clark” #7 (by Romita and Miki) and “Starfire” #11 (by Romita and Hanna).
