CBR has an exclusive first look at two new covers for Donny Cates and Dylan Burnett's Heavy Metal comic series, "Interceptor." Series artist Burnett's cover for February's "Interceptor" #3 shows just what one character thinks of the post-apocalyptic wasteland she calls home, while Ivan Shavrin's variant features a rock 'n' roll vampire band.

The "Interceptor" comic series follows vampires living in a nuclear wasteland as they attempt to go to space. "It's like this: 'Buffy' in a mech suit lands in a Vampire 'Mad Max' hell hole and unleashes a maelstrom of UV ballistics and neon and blood soaked destruction," Cates explained in an earlier report.

Though "Interceptor" #1 isn't due to hit shelves until Dec. 30 the book already has a film in the works, making it one of several comic series -- like Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen's "Descender" and Mark Millar and Rafael Albuquerque's "Huck" -- to get a film deal shortly before release.
