Stan Lee may be playing himself a little tongue-in-cheek in his Archie Comics series "Stan Lee's Mighty 7,"but this week's third issue takes things to a whole new level.

Readers picking up the comic will be confronted by a twist in the "reality comic book"where the legendary writer plays "Nick Fury"to a group of alien superheroes stranded on Earth as the group head to the latest of Lee's now famous film cameos. CBR News has an exclusive first look at artist Alex Saviuk's interiors for the issue:

And for some well-timed humor, the issue also focuses on a trip to Comic-Con where the group will meet "Spawn"creator Todd McFarlane. Though as Lee promised in last month's interview with CBR, there's more to the story than jokes. "I'm going to concentrate much more on their personal relationships and problems -- how they feel about each other and the dislikes, likes and jealousies. Things like that,"he said. "I think that's what makes characters really interesting. The business of good guys fighting bad guys? That's easy. You expect that, and that's what you get. But it's the personal relationships that give the story an additional dimension and additional interest."
