EXCLUSIVE: DC Comics Debuts Darwyn Cooke Variants in December

by  in Comic News Comment

DC Comics has consistently unleashed themed variants throughout 2014, and that trend continues in December with 23 covers illustrated by Eisner-winning artist Darwyn Cooke.

Presented in landscape format, the covers see Cooke blending his trademark vintage flair — seen on acclaimed books such as “DC: The New Frontier,” his Richard Stark adaptations and “The Spirit” — with the current iterations of DC’s heroes. Today, CBR has the exclusive first look at four of the covers: “Action Comics” #37, “”Grayson” #4, “Justice League United” #7 and “Supergirl” #37, which combines a pre-“Crisis on Infinite Earths” sensibility (including Comet the Superhorse on the “Supergirl” cover) with distinct New 52 touches.
