Following the aftermath of "Avengers Vs. X-Men," the Marvel Universe is due for a huge shake-up with its Marvel NOW! line of books, including November's "All-New X-Men" by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Stuart Immonen. The new X-book sees the past and the present collide as the original five X-Men -- Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Angel and Iceman -- find themselves in the present amongst the darker and more complicated present.

To further speculation on how these time shifted groups of X-Men will interact, Marvel has provided CBR with an exclusive first look at Stuart Immonen's covers for "All-New X-Men" #3 and #4, which focus heavily on Cyclops. Immonen's "All-New X-Men" #3 cover features modern Cyclops walking away from an explosion as he preps an optic blast, while the cover for issue #4 pits Cyclops against himself in an optic blast battle royale.

"I'd say that the young characters and the current cast of the X-Men share time on the story," Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso told CBR in July. "And there's a third entity I'm not allowed to talk about yet that will also share screen time. But the story is really about the effect of these young Lee and Kirby X-Men arriving in the present. It's both the story of young Jean Grey coming back and wondering why everybody is looking at her so weird, and it's the story of Logan and Cyclops coming to terms with the fact that this young girl, who they both fell in love with, is now back in some way, shape or form. That's what I think is going to make for such fascinating stories -dual perspectives on this development."

Immonen's cover raises more questions about the series than they answer, but do indicate the X-Men's leader will survive "Avengers Vs. X-Men" and likely play a prominent role in Bendis and Immonen's upcoming series on a collision course to a conflict with his past self.
