EXCLUSIVE: "The Invincible Iron Man" #1 variant cover by Billy Tan

Marvel Comics has provided CBR News with an exclusive first look at the Invincible Iron Man #1 variant cover by Billy Tan. On sale May 7, the new Tony Stark series written by Matt Fraction (The Immortal Iron First) and illustrated by Salvador Larroca (Newuniversal) will run concurrently with the existing intrigue title, Iron Man: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., and is touted as providing readers new and old with a more action-packed depiction of the classic superhero.

Tony Stark is equal parts James Bond and Chuck Yeager--a pioneer, a test pilot, an engineer, an adrenaline junkie visionary, said Fraction in a statement from Marvel. Iron Man is the ultimate achievement in what we, as humans, can become. He's not the product of cosmic rays or a radioactive spider. He is the triumph of human ingenuity over the frailty of the human form.THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1
