The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has reached a new stage -- now that so many celebrities have taken part, the phenomenon has extended to beloved fictional characters. Homer Simpson has done it, and CBR has the exclusive debut of Archie Comics' lead character Archie Andrews getting drenched for a good cause.

In a two-page illustration by long-time Archie artist Dan Parent, colored by Rosario Pena and with text by "Afterlife with Archie" writer and company chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Archie accepts the challenge laid down off-panel by perpetual frenemy Reggie Mantle, with an assist from Betty and Veronica. Following tradition, Archie then nominates three more individuals to either take the Ice Bucket Challenge or donate $100 -- and he's got his sights set high among his fictional comic book brethren, naming DC Comics' Batman, Marvel's Wolverine and Dark Horse Comics' Hellboy. In addition to the illustration, Archie Comics has also made a donation to the ALS Association.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has helped rally a reported $94.3 million in donations to the ALS Association -- a non-profit dedicated to funding research and spreading awareness of Lou Gehrig's Disease and spreading -- from July 29 to August 27, compared to $2.7 million in that same time frame in 2013.
