With “Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts” slated to arrive in stores and via digital marketplaces this week, Warner Bros. Animation has provided CBR News with a new, exclusive look at the film. In the clip below, Green Arrow (voiced by Chris Diamantopoulos) faces off with Silverback (Keith Szarabajka), whom the hero describes as a “Gorilla Grodd Lite” — an insult the intelligent ape doesn’t take lightly.
“Animal Instincts” kicks off a new line of Batman toys and animated projects. Another untitled “Batman Unlimited” feature will arrive direct-to-video later this year and 22 two-minute shorts featuring the “Unlimited” cast will be released via digital platforms and a companion app. Mattel’s “Batman Unlimited” toy line is already on shelves. The new Batman brand first appeared back in June when an image of a banner promoting the line at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas surfaced online.
“Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts” arrives on home video and via digital download Tuesday, May 12, 2015.
Warner Bros. also released another clip today, featuring Nightwing (Will Friedle) facing off against Cheetah (Laura Bailey).
When Gotham City is plagued by a slew of bizarre crimes committed by the animal-inspired villain squad, known as the Animilitia — made up of Silverback, Cheetah, Killer Croc and Man-Bat — Batman must swing into action to investigate. These animalistic villains bring new and exciting challenges for Batman, who must find a way to bring these criminal creatures to justice! But could the Animilitia be working for powerful businessman Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin? In the end, it’ll take the combined forces of Batman, Flash, Green Arrow, Nightwing and Red Robin to fight off these Animal Instincts.
