The first trailer for the sci-fi thriller Ex Machina is packed with equal parts atmosphere and dangerous robot sexuality.

The teaser starts out with a tagline "To erase the line between man and machine is to obscure the line between men and gods," intercut between sprawling shots of nature. We then meet stars Domhnall Gleeson, playing a programer and contest winner, and Oscar Isaac, a reclusive CEO who has seemingly blurred the aforementioned line between man and god.

Gleeson's character agrees to be the human component in a Turing test involving a highly advanced artificial intelligence placed in a female form (Alicia Vikander) and given sexuality. After that, things could get all romcom -- like Gleeson's previous film About Time -- but the proceedings instead get profoundly creepy as the soundtrack tenses up, red lights flash and blood gets spilled.

Ex Machina was written and also directed by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Sunshine). You can check out the full trailer below. The film opens April 10.
