"Star Wars" veteran Ewan McGregor will star in the third season of FX's Emmy-winning anthology series "Fargo."

According to Deadline, he'll play a dual role, as brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy.

Inspired by the 1996 film of the same name by Joel and Ethan Coen, "Fargo" features new characters and a new setting each season. Set in 2006, the first season centered on a put-upon insurance salesman whose life is sent chaos when he crosses paths with a hitman, while the second unfolded in 1979, where a triple homicide and a sloppy attempt to cover up a hit-and-run help to escalate a war between crime families.

In the third season, McGregor's Emmit Stussy is described as a self-made real-estate mogul known as the Parking Lot King of Minnesota. The handsome Emmit views himself as an American success story. His slightly younger brother Ray, on the other hand, is the kind of guy who peaked in high school. Now a parole officer, he has a huge chip on his shoulder about the hand he’s been dealt, and he blames his brother for his misfortunes.

Creator Noah Hawley has said Season 3 will be set closer to the present day, and will have connections to the previous installments.

McGregor, who recently completed Disney's live-action "Beauty and the Beast," is currently filming the sequel to "Trainspotting."
