Photo by David JamesCBR News spent a few days on the New Orleans set of "Dead of Night," the new film based on the popular Italian comics series "Dylan Dog" by Tiziano Sclavi. Dylan is a private investigator of the supernatural. Dressed in a red shirt, jeans, and a black coat, Dylan combats menaces ranging from zombies to hungry parallel universes.

The film stars "Superman Returns" alumni Brandon Routh as Dylan and Sam Huntington as Marcus. The film also features Anita Briem, Kurt Angle, and Taye Diggs.

"Dead of Night" finds Dylan in New Orleans, where factions of zombies, werewolves, and vampires fight for control. While the Groucho character from the series - known as Felix in the US - does not appear in the film, Dylan has a sidekick in the form of Marcus, a young man with a slight death problem.

In this photo, exclusive to CBR News, Director of Photography Geoff Hall and crew prepare to shoot Dylan and Elizabeth shopping with Marcus in the cart.

"Dead of Night" is the live action debut of "TMNT" director Kevin Munroe and is expected for release next year.
