If you're a fan of Dwayne Johnson's, it's absolutely necessary to follow the megastar on Twitter. If nothing else, it's a great way to keep up on what projects the super-busy actor is filming at any given time.

Earlier this month, he gave a brief look at the three-hour process for getting into the title character of Brett Ratner's Hercules. Of course, he's not done yet, as production just began. On Saturday Johnson revealed some of the weapons being used in the film along with the line, "HERCULES. We have the best film designers in the world. Respects the mythology w/ great detail. #SonOfZeus #12Labors"

The day before, he sent out another image from the make-up room, this one a close-up of some shoulder scars with the bawdy message, "Hair/make up trailer - HERCULES. Asked how I got my shoulder slice scars. From a satisfied woman w/ long ass nails;)"

Here's the synopsis for the movie based on Radical's Hercules: The Thracian War:

Everyone knows the legend of Hercules and his twelve labors. Our story begins after the labors, and after the legend…

Haunted by a sin from his past, Hercules has become a mercenary. Along with five faithful companions, he travels ancient Greece selling his services for gold and using his legendary reputation to intimidate enemies. But when the benevolent ruler of Thrace and his daughter seek Hercules’ help to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules finds that in order for good to triumph and justice to prevail… he must again become the hero he once was… he must embrace his own myth… he must be Hercules.

The film also features Ian McShane (Deadwood, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Rufus Sewell (Dark City, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Joseph Fiennes (Flashforward, Shakespeare in Love) and John Hurt (V for Vendetta, Alien). Hercules opens July 25, 2014.
