Funcom formed in 1993 and has created games for Sega, Playstation and Super Nintendo. One of its more popular releases presently is a series inspired by Conan, another fantasty-adventure property.

Dune was adapted into a film in 1984. It was a pet project of surrealist cult director Alejandro Jodorowsky and famed comic illustrator Moebius before the rights passed to Paramount, where it was turned into a poorly received major motion picture directed by David Lynch.

The forthcoming 2020 adaptation is helmed by Blade Runner 2047 director Denis Villeneuve. The Dune reboot stars Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson as Jessica Atreides, Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban, Stellan Skarsgard as Vladimir Harkonnen, Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Mohiam, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto, Javier Bardem as Stilgar and Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck. The movie hits theaters on Nov. 20, 2020.
