The proposed sequel to the Farrelly Brothers' break-out 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber, dubbed Dumb and Dumber To, has hit a snag with the departure of star Jim Carrey. in some trouble. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor was "incredibly frustrated" by what he viewed as a lack of interest from Warner Bros. and New Line.

"I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer, after all it's implied in the title," the star said in a statement.

Where this leaves the project remains to be seen. A prequel, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, came out in 2004 and starred younger versions of the characters portrayed by Carrey and Jeff Daniels.

Carrey's next release will be the magician comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone with Steve Carell and Olivia Wilde.
