June 9 marked 83 years since Donald Duck first appeared in the Disney cartoon The Wise Little Hen. To commemorate the immensely popular character's birthday, Disney XD released a new clip in the style of the upcoming reboot.

The video shows Donald trying -- and failing -- to blow out a candle on his birthday cake. Things quickly escalate as Scrooge reveals that the candle is "guaranteed to never go out, by any means necessary." After Webby, Heuy, Dewey and Louie glare at the elderly miser, he exclaims, "You expect me to buy a new candle for every birthday? Do you have any idea how much that would cost at my age?"

While much of the cast is new to the series, long-time voice actor Tony Anselmo will reprise the role of Donald. Anselmo took over the character after original voice actor Clarence Nash passed away in 1985.

Announced in February 2015, the new series returns to television the beloved animated action-adventure that was an integral part of weekday afternoons between 1987 and 1990, and inspired the 1990 theatrical release DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp.
