Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore have released a 'reboot' of sorts of 50 First Dates on YouTube, sending fans back to 2004.

The two-minute video is a reboot of a scene rather than of the entire film. Sandler collaborated with Barrymore on her YouTube series, The Drew Barrymore Show, to do a 2020 take on a series of iconic scenes in which Barrymore's amnesiac character, Lucy, wakes up and watches a tape made by Sandler's character, Henry, to catch her up on recent events. This time, it isn't just about the days and dates before -- Henry's tape catches Lucy up on the last 16 years since the movie's release.

In the video, Henry discusses the COVID-19 pandemic, how sports events are played in front of cardboard people and Netflix, although 50 First Dates is not currently available on the streaming service. The video's description also mentions Sandler telling Barrymore who the current president is, but he notably does not. And in true Sandler fashion, a few fart jokes make it into the final cut.

The comedic video, which includes guest star Allen Covert (who plays Ten Second Tom in the film), has a distinct nostalgic flavor. Though the events Sandler recounts are modern, the set and props could have come straight out of 2004, complete with a blocky CRT TV and some VHS tapes.
