"DC's Legends of Tomorrow" will plant the seeds for a potential Doom Patrol arrival in the Arrowverse in February, when the time-traveling team heads to the '80s and meets Russian nuclear scientist Valentina Vostock (Stephanie Corneliussen).

The episode's title, "White Knights," indicates the show may be take the character in the direction of her post-Doom Patrol incarnation in the comics. As the White Queen, Vostock was one of the leaders of Checkmate, the DCU's premiere secret agent organization.

DC'S Legends of Tomorrow

"White Knights" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DV) (HDTV)

STEPHANIE CORNELIUSSEN ("MR. ROBOT") GUEST STARS AS VALENTINA VOSTOCK - When Vandal Savage (guest star Casper Crump) retreats behind the Iron Curtain in the early 1980s, a string of nuclear scientists begins to mysteriously disappear. The team follows Vandal's trail straight into the heart of the Soviet Union in an attempt to find his next target. Ray (Brandon Routh) tries to bond with a beautiful Soviet scientist, Valentina Vostock (guest star Stephanie Corneliussen), in the hopes of finding out Vandal's next move. When Valentina rejects him, it's Snart (Wentworth Miller) to the rescue. Stein (Victor Garber) pushes Jax (Franz Drameh) to be better, which frustrates Jax and ultimately threatens the Firestorm matrix. Rip (Arthur Darvill) asks Sara (Caity Lotz) to train Kendra (Ciara Renee). Antonio Negret directed the episode written by Sarah Nicole Jones & Phil Klemmer (#104). Original airdate 2/11/2016.

Comic book readers know Vostock as a member of the Soviet Air Force who gained the powers of deceased Doom Patrol member Negative Man during an attempt to defect to the United States. As Negative Woman, Vostock became a member of the second incarnation of the Doom Patrol, utilizing her abilities to turn intangible, fly and create explosions. Like her predecessor, Negative Woman eventually became dangerously radioactive, forcing her to wrap her body in special bandages in order to avoid harming those around her. Eventually, her powers were negated, and she became the leader of Checkmate, filling the position vacated by Amanda Waller.

Starring Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Caity Lotz, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell and others, "Legends of Tomorrow" debuts on Thursday, January 21 at 8/7c on The CW.
