Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has gone on record saying the long-rumored aliens -- or, more accurately, invaders -- glimpsed in The Avengers Super Bowl are, in fact, not Skrulls. However, photos of an upcoming Avengers-based board game from Hasbro snapped by MTV Geek over the weekend at Toy Fair sure seem to argue that point.

Sure, they're tiny, rubbery interpretations of aliens, but those point ears and prominent chins sure look familiar. Compare them to the blurry screen cap taken by io9 and make your own decision. One reason Marvel might be dodgy about labeling these invaders as Skrulls is because they originated as Fantastic Four characters and might actually be tied up in Fox's deal with Marvel to make movies based on that franchise.

Directed by Joss Whedon, The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill and Stellan Skarsgård as Dr. Selvig. It opens May 4.
