Some fans believe that the characters are positioned in a way that forms Darth Vader's iconic headpiece, with the robed Luke Skywalker at the top forming the crown of Vader's helmet, while Rey and Kylo Ren are positioned where the Sith Lord's eyes would be. General Leia is located where the nose of the helmet would be, with the remaining characters and design elements placed to form the triangular mouthpiece section. Lastly, the Resistance's Ski Speeders at the bottom of the poster appear to round out the neck area of Vader's helmet.

While this is pure speculation, such an Easter egg could tie into Kylo Ren's obsession with his grandfather from The Force Awakens and the overall theme of director Rian Johnson's film, which showed the likes of Luke, Rey, Finn and-- of course -- Kylo Ren in a much darker place this time around.

Debuting in theaters on December 15, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is directed by Rian Johnson and stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio del Toro.
