Titan Comics' upcoming Doctor Who Origins #1 will reveal some previously untold secrets about a major Doctor Who character, the Fugitive Doctor.

Doctor Who Origins #1 comes from writer Jody Houser, artist Roberta Ingranata and colorist Warnia K. Sahadewa. The upcoming issue, which releases in June, will shed light on how the Fugitive Doctor got her name and what her time at the Division looked like. The synopsis for the issue reads, "An epic adventure with the traveling Time Lord, this issue serves as a lead-in to the explosive new story arc that reveals the very early years of the Doctor. Past, present, and future all collide in a Doctor Who tale that's out of this universe!"

The Fugitive Doctor first appeared in "Fugitive of the Judoon," the fifth episode of the twelfth season of BBC's Doctor Who. Portrayed by Jo Martin, the Fugitive Doctor is a past incarnation of the Doctor who worked for the Division against her will on behalf of the planet Gallifrey. She eventually flees from the Division and becomes a fugitive, then interacting with the series' Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) after they meet one another on Earth.

Titan Comics recently released a Doctor Who Free Comic Book Day 2022 Edition on May 7 in addition to the four-issue Doctor Who Origins series. The issue -- which also comes from Houser, Ingranata and Sahadewa -- sets up the explosive new story arc for the Fugitive Doctor in Doctor Who Origins. The synopsis reads," An epic adventure with the traveling Time Lord, this issue serves as a lead-in to the explosive new story arc that reveals the very early years of the Doctor. Past, present, and future all collide in a Doctor Who tale that's out of this universe!"

Along with the character's appearances in television and comics, Big Fish recently announced that the Fugitive Doctor will appear in a series of Doctor Who audio dramas, The Fugitive Doctor Adventures. The role will once again be played by Martin and the story will take place following the events of "Fugitive of the Judoon."

Doctor Who Origins #1 features a unique glow-in-the-dark Weeping Angel cover that is available to order from Another Universe or Forbidden Planet. Additional cover art comes from Simone Di Meo and Yoshi Yoshitani. The issue releases on June 8 from Titan Comics. Doctor Who Origins #2 will follow on July 6.
