As Benedict Cumberbatch gears up for his role in "Avengers: Infinity War," "Doctor Strange" director Scott Derrickson is thinking ahead to the Sorcerer Supreme's future. On Twitter, Derrickson fielded a few fan questions and, in doing so, not only hinted that Marvel is planning another two "Doctor Strange" films but also also that Brother Voodoo will be involved.

Asked what comic book movie he's looking forward to most, Derrickson wrote,

Doctor Strange 2 and 3. Not necessarily in that order given the relativity of time and the Eye of Agamotto.

And Captain Marvel. https://t.co/YBRaNmwBF3

Of course, this is far from a confirmation that two "Doctor Strange" sequels are in the works. However, considering Marvel's history, it wouldn't be surprising if they were announced down the line. So far, most of their major characters -- including Captain America, Iron Man and Thor -- have all starred in two or more solo films. After acquiring Spider-Man's rights, the studio also announced multiple films about the Web Head and managed to squeeze them into their meticulously planned schedule. Additionally, following "Ant-Man's" success, a sequel was confirmed shortly thereafter. So, while Marvel has yet to officially announce more "Doctor Strange" films, it is certainly within the realm of possibility.

Another fan asked him about the possibility of Brother Voodoo surfacing in a sequel, to which Derrickson responded,

His brother Daniel was killed by Kaecilius, so what do you think? https://t.co/xu5CHUmFPw

Here, Derrickson is referring to a scene from the first "Doctor Strange" film. When Kaecilius attempted to take over the New York Sanctum Sanctorum, its guardian Daniel Drumm (Mark Anthony Brighton) was killed in the ensuing battle. As Derrickson says here, Daniel is the brother of Jericho Drumm, who goes on to become Brother Voodoo. Seeing as the film has already established a connection to Brother Voodoo, Derrickson's response suggests that he has plans for the sorcerer to show up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point in the future.

Debuting in Len Wein and Gene Colan's "Strange Tales" #169, Brother Voodoo has been a staple of Marvel's "Doctor Strange" comics for decades. He granted his brother Daniel's dying wish by going to study the mystic arts with Daniel's mentor Papa Jambo. In the time since then, he has gone on to help heroes like Spider-Man, Moon Knight and -- of course -- Doctor Strange. In recent comics, he even became the Sorcerer Supreme.

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Tilda Swinton and more, “Doctor Strange” is now available for purchase on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD.
