Before Doctor Strange can become the Sorcerer Supreme and turn all of our worlds upside down, he has to undergo some superhero soul-searching. In a new featurette for "Doctor Strange," stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams and Chiwetel Ejiofer, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, weigh in on the character's mystical journey.

"Strange is incredibly arrogant, brilliant, sort of extraordinary," Cumberbatch says. "And his need to control the fates, to control destiny and in particular death has brought him to the height of his profession as a neurosurgeon."

That world is soon shattered by car accident."He has quite a journey as his life starts to fall apart," McAdams explains. With his hands rendered useless, he embarks on a trip of destiny to Nepal. There, he meets the Ancient One, who becomes his guide and mentor -- and shows him that he can help the world in a greater way than he ever thought possible.

The featurette also provides a good look at Mads Mikkelson, who plays the main antagonist in Strange's journey to better himself. "We're excited about the villians in this film," Feige shares. "These are people who become seduced by what they find out about the other side. They're interested in spilling the barriers between these dimensions, which would annihilate our entire universe."

Directed by Scott Derrickson, "Doctor Strange" arrives in theaters Nov. 4.
