In addition to getting a limited edition Big Sleeve Blu-ray release, Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” will also get a collectible SteelBook edition when it hits stores in a few weeks. The SteelBook series is exclusive to Best Buy, and the online store already has it listed for pre-order.
Arriving on February 28, the SteelBook edition of “Doctor Strange” retails for $34.99 and comes in a case mimicking the powerful Eye of Agamotto that Stephen Strange uses in the film. The collectible SteelBook also comes with the 3-D version of the film.
Directed by Scott Derrickson, “Doctor Strange” follows the story of world-renowned surgeon Stephen Strange, whose life changes following a career-ending car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he searches for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. He soon learns the people there are at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces determined to destroy reality.
The biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe debut for a single character, the film has grossed $657.8 million worldwide since its theatrical release on November 4.
“Doctor Strange” stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton.
