Disney Channel has released an extended clip from its upcoming animated television movie "The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar." If some of the footage looks familiar, it's because part of the sequence was previewed last week.

Airing in November, ahead of the debut of a new animated series in January, "The Lion Guard" follows the adventures of Kion, son of Simba from the 1994 classic "The Lion King."

Voiced by Max Charles ("The Amazing Spider-Man," "The Strain"), Kion leads The Lion Guard, traditionally comprised of the bravest, strongest and fastest animals of the Pride Lands. However, he breaks with tradition and instead recruits his friends: Bunga (Joshua Rush), a blustery honey badger; Ono (Atticus Shaffer), a smarty-pants egret; Fuli (Diamond White), a confident cheetah; and Beshte (Dusan Brown), a friendly hippo.

James Earl Jones and Ernie Sabella reprise their "Lion King" roles as Mufasa and Pumbaa, joined by Kevin Schon from "The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa" as Timon, Rob Lowe as Simba and Gabrielle Union as Nala.
