From Tuesday night preview showings alone, Disney's new animated adventure, "Moana," raked in $2.6 million -- double the former record, set last year with Disney's "The Good Dinosaur," and significantly higher than the $1.2 million and $1.4 million earned from preview nights for "Frozen" and "Big Hero 6," respectively. Even the successful "Zootopia," which released in March, only earned $1.7 million from its Thursday night preview showings.

According to Variety, "Moana" is expected to top "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them" over the course of the five-day Thanksgiving weekend at the box office. Additionally, the film will beat out Brad Pitt's latest thriller, "Allied," the hotly (or, coldly?) anticipated sequel, "Bad Santa 2" and Warren Beatty's period comedy-drama, "Rules Don't Apply."

"Allied" earned $600,000 from Tuesday night previews -- similar to "Bridge of Spies," which earned $500,000 before its $15.4 million opening at the weekend box office. "Bad Santa 2," on the other hand, earned a mere $350,000 from previews.
