Disney's Hollywood Studios will close several attractions and take down its iconic Earffel Tower to make way for eagerly awaited theme lands based on Star Wars and Toy Story.

Disney announced the April 2 closing of the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show and "nearby locations around Streets of America," with the Orlando Sentinel adding to the list the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure, a Monsters, Inc. meet-and-greet and the Studio Catering Co. restaurant.

It's not known when the park will remove the Earffel Tower, the 130-foot water tower replica water tower topped by enormous Mickey Mouse ears that's been part of Disney's Hollywood Studios since its opening in 1989.

Disneyland in Anaheim, California, has already closed attractions -- among them, Big Thunder Ranch -- to begin construction of the 14-acre Star Wars-themed area. Toy Story Land will replicate Andy's backyard from the Pixar films, with the addition of a family-friendly Slinky Dog roller coaster and an aliens saucer rice.
