The voice cast of Disney's blockbuster "Frozen" will reunite for an animated holiday special to air in 2017 on ABC.

Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad are set to reprise their roles as Ana, Elsa and Olaf in the special, which will be directed by Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers-Skelton ("Prep & Landing"). While co-star Jonathan Groff isn't mentioned in the announcement, his character Kristoff is, so make of that what you will.

The announcement came just as Disney confirmed long-swirling rumors that "Frozen" will head to Broadway in spring 2018. A pre-Broadway engagement will kick off in summer 2017.

Based on a story by "Frozen" screenwriter Jennifer Lee, the production will feature music and lyrics by songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez ("Winnie the Pooh") and Robert Lopez ("Avenue Q," "Book of Mormon"). Alex Timbers ("Peter and the Starcatcher," "Mozart in the Jungle") will direct, with Peter Darling ("Billy Elliot," "Matilda") serving as choreographer.
