According to a new report, Lucasfilm is currently planning nearly a dozen Star Wars TV shows for Disney+.

The premiere date for The Book of Boba Fett was revealed today, along with the first synopsis for the bounty hunter's show and a new poster. Along with the news, The Hollywood Reporter shared that it's one of many projects in the works for the streaming service. The outlet claims 11 series are planned over the next few years. It doesn't make clear if this number includes both live-action and animated shows, but it should be thrilling news for Star Wars fans regardless.

December will see the debut of The Book of Boba Fett, which bumped back the Season 3 arrival of The Mandalorian. That show's return will now come in 2022, along with a second season of the animated series The Bad Batch. Assuming animated shows are part of THR's 11, that's three right there.

The Rogue One prequel Andor just wrapped filming, and Obi-Wan Kenobi is currently in production. Along with the existing shows, the two series will further fill in the gaps between the Star Wars prequels and the Original Trilogy. There's also Leslye Headland's The Acolyte, the first live-action story set long before the Skywalker Saga. Finally, there's the Lando Calrissian series that's in the works.

Along with The Book of Boba Fett, Disney+ will also see another Mandalorian spinoff: Ahsoka, which will reportedly bring Ezra Bridger, Thrawn, and Sabine Ren over from Rebels to the live-action world. Interestingly, THR also says Rangers of the New Republic is still in the works, though a report from Variety in May said the show was no longer in active development.

Either way, there are still several unaccounted-for shows. There's a chance that Star Wars: Visions could get a second season given the reception it's received so far. Rumors have also swirled that Knights of the Old Republic could make its way to film, but a TV show is just as likely. Disney+ has proven to be fertile ground for new Marvel shows, so it's likely more Star Wars shows focused on original stories could be in the works, along with all the spinoffs for existing characters.
