Rising comics star James Tynion IV has signed an exclusive deal with DC Entertainment.

The prominent writer, who is well known for his work on "Batman" and "Detective Comics" throughout the New 52 and Rebirth, expressed his love for DC Comics and his affinity for the characters in an official statement. "DC is home to my favorite characters in the comics industry, and now I'm getting the chance to write a lot of those characters twice a month in 'Detective Comics,' the comic book that gives our great company its name."

He elaborated, "Being part of the DC family has been a dream, and I'm happy to make it official. We are already working on amazing stories coming in the next few years, and I can't wait to get a chance to write them."

Commenting on Tynion's exclusive deal, DC Comics Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras said, "We're incredibly excited that James is coming aboard as part of the DC Talent family. You can see his love and enthusiasm for every member of the 'Batman' cast on every page of his current run on 'Detective Comics.' Fans are going to be on the edge of their seats when they see what James has got coming up!"

In addition to working for DC, Tynion has done the occasional job for Thrillbent, IDW, and Marvel Comics, and has several ongoings with BOOM! Studios, including "The Backstagers" and "The Woods."

For fans worried that Tynion might have to discontinue those titles, fear not -- the author addressed these concerns in a post to Twitter, clarifying that his contract with DC Entertainment would not affect his ability to work with BOOM!:
