Johnny Depp is getting into the guise of Captain Jack Sparrow once again: He's participated in the creation of a new Disney's Hollywood Studios walkthrough attraction called "The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow," inspired by his character in the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise.

"'The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow' is an immersive, theatrical experience in which our guests will actually get to follow in the footsteps of Captain Jack himself to see if they have what it takes to be pirates and be members of his crew," Jason Surrell, a member of Walt Disney Imagineering, explained in the above video. "They're guided through this adventure by this embodied talking skull, and he puts them through their paces and allows them to face all the trials of a pirate's life."

Guests are asked to do a variety of actions to prove that they're worthy of joining Jack Sparrow's crew. In addition, the Imagineers are excited about the specific replica pieces littered around the attraction, including some treasures that Jack Sparrow has owned. Still, there's nothing the Imagineers were more excited about than the inclusion of Depp.

"I think the reason the casting of Johnny Depp was so important is because if you're going to build an attraction and call it 'The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow,' you had better deliver on one thing, and that's Captain Jack Sparrow," Surrell said. "There is only one Captain Jack, and that's Johnny Depp."

He continued, "I think what's going to surprise our guests most about 'The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow' is that it really does put you in the middle of the action, and by the end of the experience you're going to feel like you embarked on a voyage with Captain Jack Sparrow yourself."
