Tony Cliff's second "Delilah Dirk" adventure graphic novel, "Delilah Dirk and the King's Shilling," is out today, and there's already news of a third. "Delilah Dirk and the Pillar of Hercules" is next in the series from First Second, as reported Tuesday by Entertainment Weekly.

Here's the description, per EW: "Delilah and Turkish lieutenant Selim search for clues that will hopefully lead them to an underground city with the help of a Dutch writer, though Delilah will later find out their comrades motivations might not have been entirely rooted in providing scholarly help."

"Delilah Dirk" started life as a webcomic, and the first print volume, "Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant," was released by First Second in 2013. For the third volume, Cliff told EW he's looking to continue to blend the strengths of North American superhero comics, "literary" graphic novels and newspaper comic strips.

"I believe readers ought to expect to find a healthy blend of all of these elements in their reading regardless of the genre or slice of the comics spectrum they choose to enjoy, so those are the books I try to make," Cliff said. "I want to pull in readers with the anticipation of an exciting story that will make them laugh and I want them to end up discovering relatable, well-rounded, believable characters exploring substantial ideas."

"Delilah Dirk and the King's Shilling" is on sale now. No release date has been announced for "Delilah Dirk and the Pillar of Hercules."
