Director Guillermo del Toro and star Tom Hiddleston discuss the Gothic corridor set, and the ghosts that emerge from it, in a new featurette for "Crimson Peak."

"The corridor seemed like a succession of arches studded with of rows of spear-like teeth," says Hiddleton, who plays Sir Thomas Sharpe. "And it's a part of the house that Thomas avoids, because that part of the house is where the darkest secrets are buried."

When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger (Hiddleston), a young woman (Mia Wasikowska) is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.

Opening Oct. 6, the Gothic thriller also stars Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam and Jim Beaver.
