Dean Haspiel has teamed with Adam Holzman for a comics retelling of the infamous "Miami Incident," part of the Rhino Entertainment's new Doors App, which debuted today on the App Store.

Conceived by Elektra Records founder Jac Holzman, who signed the Doors to the label in 1965, the app was developed with the participation of band members John Densmore, Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek, and the estate of the estate of Jim Morrison. Described as "an unprecedented immersive experience," it features interactive content, unpublished photos and artwork, rare videos, music and more.

That latter category includes what's characterized as the centerpiece of the "Story" section, Haspiel and Adam Holzman's take on that March 1969 concert at Miami's Dinner Key Auditorium that led to Morrison's conviction on charges of open profanity and indecent exposure. The comic is accompanied by rare audio from the show, the FBI and arrest reports, portions of Morrison's testimony, his mug shot, and his posthumous pardon, issued in 2010.
