Following the winter finale of "Supergirl", the ongoing conflict with Project Cadmus and the hunt for Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain) appeared to fall to the wayside for a couple of episodes. Fans worried that the series had somehow lost track of that central story, and those concerned about the search for Jeremiah Danvers, can rest assured this plotline is coming back in a big way.

Following the re-emergence of Lilian Luthor (Brenda Strong) in episode 12 of season two, Cadmus is once again making its presence known. More importantly, next week's episode of "Supergirl", titled "Homecoming," will feature the long-anticipated rescue of Jeremiah Danvers from the clutches of Cadmus and Lilian Luthor.

The revelation that Jeremiah Danvers was actually alive and being held prisoner by Project Cadmus was one of the biggest reveals of "Supergirl" season one. It looks like next week's "Homecoming" will finally see Jeremiah reunited with his family. Unfortunately, the reunion may not be the rosy occasion that everyone hoped for. The promo takes an ominous tone and there are definite indications that Jeremiah may not be all that he appears. It certainly is within the realm of possibility that Cadmus has somehow managed to twist Jeremiah into a double agent to infiltrate Supergirl's inner circle. After all, what better person to do just that than Supergirl's beloved adoptive father?

Of course, it's equally as likely that the promo is nothing more than a well-executed red herring. Regardless, it's always a plus to see Dean Cain back in action. His starring turn as the Man of Steel in  "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" is still a favorite for many fans. And with the recent news that Cain's "Lois and Clark" co-star Teri Hatcher will be making an appearance on this season, "Supergirl" appears to be in full 90's nostalgia mode.

DEAN CAIN RETURNS – When Jeremiah Danvers (guest star Dean Cain) is rescued from Cadmus, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Kara (Melissa Benoist) are thrilled to have their father back. The Danvers arrange a family dinner to celebrate but things go awry when a suspicious Mon-El (Chris Wood) starts to question Jeremiah about his sudden return. Larry Teng directed the episode written by Caitlin Parrish & Derek Simon.

Starring Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, "Supergirl" airs Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott and features appearances by Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant as well as Tyler Hoechlin's Superman.
