Reader Manny S. wrote in to ask if me if it was really true that Deadpool once killed a guy over liking the Star Wars prequels.

The answer, Manny is...sort of?

In the maxiseries, Deadpool: Merc With a Mouth, by Victor Gischler, Bong Dazo and Jose Pimentel, Deadpool is hired by Advanced Idea Mechanics to procure the head of an alternate universe version of Deadpool before Hydra can get to it. This Deadpool comes from the Marvel Zombies universe (well, at least A Marvel Zombies universe) and Deadpool works with an attractive A.I.M. scientist to get the head which, because it is a zombie, can still talk despite it being just a head.

Anyhow, in Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #5, Deadpool turns it over to A.I.M., who have it on their space ship. Meanwhile, though, Hydra is on the way to get the head for themselves on their own space ship. No one knows that at the time, though. A.I.M. thinks that they beat Hydra to the head and have won it.

That, though, is a problem for Deadpool, because he realizes that A.I.M. could do some awful things with access to a real live zombie, so he decides to take it back. At the same time, Hydra attacks the A.I.M. ship.

So Deadpool has them fly away from Hydra and then the following exchange occurred...

So yes, he DID kill the guy because of the prequels thing, but Deadpool was already attacking A.I.M. because they were evil and he knew that they were going to do bad things with the zombie Deadpool head (Headpool, as he became known). So the odds were pretty good that Deadpool was going to kill the A.I.M. guy ANYways. The A.I.M. guy WAS a bad guy, ya know?

So it's a close call as to whether Deadpool seriously killed him just over the Star Wars stuff. But I think this pretty much answers your question, Manny, right?
