Though the film isn't out until this Friday, a "Deadpool" sequel is already in the works, according to The Hollywood Repoter. The film has reportedly been greenlit by 20th Century Fox, per THR's sources, and returning screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are working on a script.

"Deadpool" director Tim Miller is not yet signed for a sequel, but THR states that "Fox is intent on keeping the creative team together" -- which surely includes star Ryan Reynolds.

Despite an R-rating theoretically limiting the film's potential audience, "Deadpool" is tracking very well. The long-in-the-works unconventional superhero movie is expected to bring in around $65 million for the four-day Presidents' Day/Valentine's Day weekend, with more bullish estimates stretching up to $70 million.

Based on the fan-favorite Marvel Comics antihero, "Deadpool" opens this Friday, Feb. 12.
