Ryan Reynolds tells MTV News the search for a writer is on. “There’s been a lot of meetings and we’ve met with a bunch of different writers, all of which had amazing and slightly disparate takes from one another. So we’re figuring that out right now. Hopefully soon,” says Reynolds. He also mentions Quentin Tarantino would be his dream director for the project. “Obviously Tarantino is a guy that likes to direct his own material, so there’s a good chance he wouldn’t be the guy,” he cautions.

Time for another casting rumor. Cinematical noticed a mention in an Ain’t It Cool News item of singer/songwriter/actor Tom Waits. Only his named is mentioned without any clue as to a part for the man. “As much as I’d like to say he’s a lock, I’m told he’s simply someone the production is talking about,” says AICN’s Latauro. Since Peter Jackson told Heat Vision casting begins now, expect to hear a lot more of this until shooting begins this summer.
